Interment to follow:  at Oakwood Cemetery, Bay Shore

Daniel La Penna, Jr, 84, of Sayville, LI, died suddenly on Friday, May 27, 2016.  A lifelong resident of Long Island, Mr. La Penna grew up in Bay Shore.  He graduated from SUNY Farmingdale and went on to serve in the US Army.  Mr. La Penna worked for many years as a Service Supervisor with LILCO.  He was also a passionate and talented artist.

Mr. La Penna is survived by his wife Darlene, his children, Daniel, III of Bay Shore, Joyce of Virginia, John and his wife Danielle of Bellport, James and his wife Cristi of Selden, Desiree Hemmes of Delaware, as well as his nine grandchildren, Lauren, James, Alyssa, Christian, Jasmine, Brianna, Patricia, Rebecca and Matthew, and his great-granddaughter, Anna Beth.  He was predeceased by his first wife Patricia, and by his daughter Mary Beth.

Friends and relatives will gather Wednesday, June 1st, 7-9:30 p.m. and Thursday, June 2nd, 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home, West Sayville.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 3rd at 9:45 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene RC Church, Bohemia.  Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Bay Shore.
